The 2026 BRICS Industrial Innovation Contest Indonesia Overseas Qualification officially opened in Jakarta on May 7, bringing together innovators, industry leaders, and technology-driven teams from China and Indonesia to strengthen collaboration in advancing industrial transformation and sustainable development.

Hosted by China Datang, this year’s competition carries the theme, “Gather Intelligence in Innovative BRICS Development to Accelerate the New Industrial Revolution Progress.” The event highlights the growing commitment among BRICS-related partners to foster innovation, accelerate technological advancement, and promote cross-border industrial cooperation.
A total of 52 participating teams from both China and Indonesia are competing across four strategic sectors, including artificial intelligence (AI), green industries, low-altitude equipment, and energy electronics. The competition serves as a platform for emerging innovators and enterprises to showcase breakthrough ideas and practical solutions that support the future of global industry and sustainable economic growth.

At the conclusion of the qualification round, eight outstanding projects will be selected to advance to the global finals in Xiamen. In addition, selected projects will be included in the BRICS Industrial Innovation Project Cooperation Repository, where they will receive further support through incubation programs, investment matchmaking, and commercialization opportunities.

The event reflects the strengthening partnership between Indonesia and China in innovation-driven industries and demonstrates the important role of international collaboration in shaping the next phase of the new industrial revolution.
